Amanda Cardin for Village Trustee

Hello,
My name is Amanda Cardin and I am running, as an Independant, for Village Trustee.  I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Leadership and Advocacy from National Louis University.  I am the Director of the Early Childhood Center at a University in the western suburbs.
I have served on the board of Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) and VOICE which are organizations working with children and adults with special needs. I am a current member of the Chicago Ridge Library board.

I am running for trustee because I am concerned about the current state of affairs in the Village.  Pension plans, loss of business and the need for additions of new business are some of these concerns.

I have no business to promote or relatives to promote to Village jobs.  I wish only to give back to the community and make a difference.

MY PLATFORM
I will:
introduce a self governing ordinance to prohibit elected officials from hiring or creating positions for relatives.
fight to end no bid contracts.
find ways to do more with less taxes.
work on Village beautification.
certainly fight for the Village to be more fiscally conscious and help work to attract new business while helping our current businesses thrive.

George Schleyer, pictured with me above, is my running mate and is running for Village Clerk.  George has been a member of the community since 1994.  George has been active in the community and served on the board of the Athletic Association. He has a stong work ethic and I believe he will do a great job supporting our Village.

George Schleyer and Amanda Cardin will:

* Introduce a self-governing ordinance to prohibit elected officials from hiring and creating positions for relatives

* End no bid contracts

* End pension abuse by the politically connected

* Reject a full-time pension for a part-time elected position

* Support term limits

* Work with the board on doing more for the Village with fewer taxes

* Find ways to fund beautification efforts

* Work to encourage new businesses while supporting the growth of current business
Amanda and George will put You first!
